Waste management

With the aim of combating food waste, Quinta de Vilar was also the origin of the Fruut brand, created to give value to "ugly" apples that were previously rejected by the market.

Organic waste resulting from apple pruning and harvesting is directed to a composting system, where it is transformed into natural fertilizer, subsequently used to fertilize the orchards.

It also encourages the recycling, reduction, and reuse of plastics, as well as the use of reusable pooling systems such as Euro Pool, IFCO, and CHEP for packaging and pallets, promoting circular logistics and reducing packaging and transport waste.
