With orchards of our own distributed across the Beira Alta and Trás-os-Montes regions, Quinta de Vilar ensures controlled production right from the source. The 42 hectares of apple trees currently under cultivation provide a solid foundation of high-quality fruit, reinforced by regional partnerships that adhere to the same technical and sustainability criteria.
Cold storage units equipped with refrigerated and dynamic controlled atmosphere systems keep the apples in peak condition year-round. With a total capacity of 16 000 tonnes, these infrastructures allow for product availability from August to July, preserving freshness, flavor, and quality.

The water-based graders, with a total of 40 channels and an annual grading capacity of 50 000 tonnes, represent one of the pillars of the production process automation. This system allows for the classification and selection of apples with high precision, ensuring uniformity and reducing waste.
At Quinta de Vilar, automated packaging lines for trays, bags, and bushel boxes ensure an annual capacity of 56 000 tonnes in trays and 22 000 tonnes in bags. This setup guarantees high efficiency, flexibility, and a rapid response to the demands of diverse markets. The process is further enhanced by a box-forming machine, a pallet box (palox) sanitizing machine, and an automatic palletizer, ensuring efficiency and precision at every stage.
