Granny Smith Apple
SPECIFICATIONS
This apple originated in Eastwood, New South Wales, Australia in 1868 and has a bright green colour. The skin of the fruit is quite dense which provides the pulp with good protection and resistance to handling.
Characteristics
The pulp is juicy, off-white, and crunchy, with a bitter taste and high acidity. When harvested, the fruit must have a pulp firmness between 7.0 and 9.0 Kg/cm2 and the refractometric index must be higher than 12% (Brix).
