Golden Delicious Apple

SPECIFICATIONS

This medium to large sized apple originated in the US state of Virginia at the end of the 19th century. With a green colour that turns golden-yellow as it ripens, it can occasionally take on an orange blush. The skin may present some roughness (russeting) in the stem cavity.

Characteristics

The pulp is light cream-coloured, sweet, juicy, firm, aromatic, slightly acidic and fragrant. When harvested the fruit must have a pulp firmness between 7.0 and 9.0 Kg/cm2 and the refractometric index must be higher than 12% (Brix).
